Autumn is...

I have found that autumn is my absolute favorite time of the year. The air is crisp and you can smell the burning of leaves and wood. It is also the best time of the year for fairs to come to town. Kettle corn, apples, cider, cotton candy, the ferris wheel and the merry-go-round.

I love it.

There is something about the leaves when they fall to the ground and decorate the remnants of grass with jewel tones of red, orange, yellow, and brown. The orange leaves are some of the last to fall in this area I have noticed. Which to me brings in the Halloween spirit. I love the way the sunlight filters through the trees at Maudslay Gardens in Newburyport. It gives everything a vintage glow.  As if the days gone by could still be present. Autumn in the best fashion weather also. You can cozy up in your favorite jeans, a fun top, boots and scarf. Its like the world is getting comfy. Right before Winter.

This weekend I will be going to Northern New Hampshire with my husband and our girls. The thing I look forward to the most, second after spending time with my loves, is the foliage tour. It glows. I look forward to adding to our current collection of tree portraits. And this year it will be even more sentimental with my babies. I have my smores kit, bottle of wine, and comfy sweatshirt ready to go.

I will post photographs for everyone in our first family mini get a way.

Just so you know also, the website is still currently down due to a domain issue. It is pending a new purchase and a few additions. I need it to be perfect to upgrade it and won't let it go live with out the right tools. If you want to find me, you can always do so on facebook or on 500px.

Happy Autumn!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my husband and my third anniversary! It is also my birthday! What a great day!
It is also 3 days til the beginning of Autumn and the end of Summer.
I personally LOVE autumn.
The leaves, the cool air, and the beginning of holiday festivities with friends and family.
I am most looking forward to the autumn photo sessions coming up. It is the most amazing and natural backdrop!

It has been a while!

I haven't been here in quite some time. Almost a year! But I am back. So much has happened. Let me tell you about it!

I had 2 of the most beautiful baby girls. Yes, twins. Fraternal but none the less twins. Sophie Marie and Chloe Therese. I have one exam left before I have completed my Certificate in Photography. Become addicted to Pinterest! Bought a mini van! And yes, continuing my studies for what I love the most. Well, second after my family. My photography studies. Taking another class, watching tutorials and waiting for the right time to purchase my new Canon. I am also in the progress of becoming an LLC. Very exciting!

So as you can see I have had a busy busy year! And with shoots coming up, the holidays, and just life in general its only getting better!

I am hoping in the next year I can say that I am truly a professional. My new site is going up as the last one has been a sort of test for me. (And I love the result!) My career change will never be easy but I love what it is bringing to me. I look forward to all my upcoming sessions and new and old clients.

Muddy Boots

When I got home tonight my boots were muddy. Covered in ocean water, sand, and well, just plain mud. Normally, I would be upset. But the dirt and leaves stuck to the bottom of my cozy boots was completely worth it today. I am lucky to say that I get to do what I love to do. And today was a testament of this. I had real Italian meatballs (like my Nana's), delicious pasta, cider doughnuts, and fresh cider. In two completely different locations and scenery. I met so many wonderful people today and enjoyed conversations with some of the funniest people. From ages 4 months to 70 years old, I laughed and I almost cried at one point.
From checking the map with Kane at Cider Hill Farm to watching Marty make goofy faces in almost every photograph in Gloucester, I loved every moment given to me today.
What I realized on my way home is how unbelievably lucky I am. So many individuals work and despise their jobs and/or bosses. I love my bosses. I have tons of them. They are all happy to see me, want to work with me, and love the end result. How many people can say that?
I would only change one thing I think. I need more hours in the day.
After spending several hours with Doreen's family, I got emotional when several of her family members gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. It made me realize how much I miss my family and how much more they will treasure their family portraits. And I took alot of family portraits. I hope mom and dad have lots of wall space in their new home.
And then off to Cider Hill Farms to meet with Nicole and her adorable family. I was so excited when Janice sent me a message that she was coming too! Apples, pumpkins, and portraits with 2 of the cutest little boys. Kane, stole my heart with his toddler lysp, sweet disposition, and checking the map. Liam was the sweetest pumpkin in the patch! And what made it even better, was everyone sitting at the end, eating doughnuts fresh and covered in cinnamon sugar. Still warm from the baking process. I never felt like I had to sell anything, I didn't once have to force a product or a service.
These are my favorite days. I hope they never end.
